Enduring Love
I had a lot of time on my hands while getting my hair done at the hair salon yesterday and reading women's magazines for three hours just didn't appeal to me. So I started on Ian McEwan's Enduring Love and I just couldn't put it down thereafter. So I finished reading it in a day's work - interspersed with moments of going back to reality.
What a wonderfully gripping book. Ian McEwan's lines were fluid, vivid and extremely delectable to read. For me, it wasn't the need to be believed or the thrill of knowing if he did it or not. It's how intricately and sensitively relatationships were written about that gripped my attention. Love can be so strong - with constant assurance, validation and understanding; it can also be so vulnerable, the most unexpected or insignificant incident can change the entire course of feelings and emotions. The most important love is endured, through times of good, bad or pure doubt.
